domestic labor
domestic labor is a space for quilted art that explores memory, domestic space and the often-invisible labor of women woven into everyday life.
the emotional logic of making

where architecture, textiles, and social practice meet to shape our everyday environments.

DOMESTIC LABOR™
jennifer is a textile artist whose quilt‑based practice centers memory, domestic space, and the often‑invisible labor of women. working with repurposed fabrics and found imagery, she creates layered compositions that transform everyday materials into intimate narratives. her work reflects the quiet strength of the women in her family, whose domestic practices and resourcefulness shaped her understanding of care, creativity, and survival.

before dedicating herself to her art full time, jennifer spent years working in architecture, a background that continues to inform her sensitivity to structure, materiality, and the built environment. this shift from architecture to textile art reflects a return to the tactile, domestic, and intergenerational forms of making that have always grounded her.
raised in an immigrant household where mending, saving, and reusing cloth were both necessity and tradition, jennifer draws deeply from these inherited gestures. she is drawn to the emotional and material histories embedded in textiles — the softness of worn fabric, the scent of a childhood linen closet, and the traces of unpaid labor that linger in household materials. through quilting, hand‑sewing, and the slow, repetitive acts of repair, she honors these histories while reimagining domestic labor as a site of authorship and artistic expression.

jennifer’s work weaves together personal memory and collective lineage, challenging the boundaries between craft and contemporary art while elevating the everyday into something quietly resonant.
